Dr. Zaki S. Ftaiha is the founder of The Philadelphia Institute of Cosmetic Surgery and currently serves in the capacity of Medical Director. He is fully trained in all aspects of modern cosmetic surgery including: cosmetic surgery of the face and body, breast surgery including augmentation and reduction, suction assisted lipectomy, body contouring, laser procedures and many more. Dr. Ftaiha is internationally known for inventing the mini cannula used tumescent liposuction. Dr. Ftaiha was instrumental in perfecting the breast augmentation through the belly button. He has performed more than a thousand since 1992. His latest and most exciting developments is the Anti-Gravity Facelift, a method which results in a more natural look rather than the "mask" appearance. This procedure can be done under local anesthetic.
Credits and Achievements
Dr. Ftaiha has authored several ground breaking scientific papers in the areas of liposuction. He holds a patent for developing a method and device to extract and inject human collagen. His reputation for excellence has resulted in his peer recognition and selection to "The Best Doctors" list in the Philadelphia Magazine three times.
Education and Training
Dr. Ftaiha graduated from Damascus University in 1973. He completed full training in General Surgery in Brooklyn, New York and Cincinnati, Ohio. As a General Surgeon, Dr. Ftaiha completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship at the Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia.
Holding Pennsylvania and New York licenses, the doctor is board certified in cosmetic and general surgery. He is a member of the following professional organizations:

Personal
Dr. Ftaiha has been in practice in Philadelphia since 1987. In his spare time, the doctor enjoys sailing, skiing, rollerblading. Happily married since 1975, his wife and their three children enjoy many family activities including traveling, movies, social events.
